The essential purpose behind the website development for the MoEC is to release the Ministry overall functions and facilitate the public as well as the international community to be acquainted with the ministry's strategic planning, procedures, achievements & continual activities.
Main objective for the website:
To enable the public across the world to get the extensive concept concerning the strategies, policies, mandate and plans of the Ministry of Economy.
Increase transparency on the MoEc's strategies, policies, activities, and future plans.
Raise awareness on the current and future activities and plans of the Ministry.
Enable knowledge sharing with like-minded entities within and outside the country.
The International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Afghanistan Information Management Services (AIMS) jointly conducted a ten days training in advanced GIS, remote sensing and GPS for medium level professionals. A total of twenty five participants including 22 male and 3 female employees from various government, non-government and UN organizations attended the training. The training started on 9 th and ended on 20 th November 2008 at a newly established training room in the AIMS main office.
Based on the agreement between AIMS and UNAMA to develop sectoral activities and customized maps with the data entered into PMUNA website, a total of 125 maps showing status of UN programs and activities throughout Afghanistan were produced and uploaded on PMUNA and AIMS web sites.
The main purpose to conduct this assessment was to ensure that the existing training rooms at MoCIT were renovated and that the essential ICT requirements for the proposed training were fully recommended. The assessment was well coordinated with the technical employees of the planning department of MoCIT.

As part of AIMS commitment to support gender activities in its programs, two national female employees were facilitated with TOT training in India in the month of November 2008. The main objective of this training was to increase capacity of national employees, particularly female, in gender mainstreaming within AIMS programs and activities and raise awareness among its employees. The training which was a successor of its two preliminary phases in Kabul was held in India for three days. AIMS is intending to employ the content of the training through its Skill Development Program (SDP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) program.
In an agreement between AIMS and the Capacity Development Program (CDP) of USAID Bearing Point, a three day Training of Trainers (TOT) was given to AIMS nineteen employees to strengthen their skills in delivering effective training to AIMS' clients. The training was conducted from 23 rd to 25 th of November 2008. Certificates of participation were given to each participant at the end of the training.
